 CARD BASE:

1. Cut and fold an 8.5″ x 5.5″ piece of Whisper White cardstock in half to make a standard 4.25″ x 5.5″ card for the base.  Stamp background on inside of card along with sentiment. This card had the sentiment embossed in silver.

2. Cut one 4″ x 5.25″ piece of Bride Specialty paper for the front of the card. Tie bow from ribbon and adhere to front with a glue dot. Then adhere to card base with two-way glue or SNAIL.

3. Cut two pieces of 4.25″ x 5.5″ contrasting cardstock (or vellum) for the fold-over flaps. Mark both pieces at 2 1/8″ or halfway on the 4.25″ side of the cardstock.  Score both pieces face down at 1/2″ and another 1/8″  from the opposite side where the halfway point was marked.

4. Line the halfway mark up along with the edge of the flap in the cutter trough and cut a triangular piece off. Repeat on the other side and then again on the other piece.  Either leave the flap as a triangle or trim about 1 1/2″ off the edge if you don’t want it to stick out of the latch piece on the front of the card.

5.  Stamp sentiment on flap and attach embellishment that will hold the flap shut on the other side. This card used the Designer Label punch along with the matching Hodgepodge Hardware frame.  Another idea for a latch piece would be an oval punched shape with flowers on the front or other image stamped on it.

Attach flaps to the base of the card and you’re done!
