What’s Black and White and Red All Over?

…A newspaper, of course! Come on… terrible third-grader jokes aren’t that far in your past, are they??

Hi Stampers!

I hope your weekend is going along swimmingly. We’ve been busy around here winterizing our home and sizing up the large shrubs in our yard. They seem to have taken on a life of their own. While I love a nice, brilliant yellow forsythia bush as much as anyone in the Spring, if we let this one grow any bigger, no one is going to get in or out of our neighborhood without a chainsaw!

This morning I’ve stepped out of my Autumn/Fall/Halloween/Thanksgiving mode and went with a red, black, and white card. It was fun. I had earlier made the red rose from of our clear window sheets using the Fifth Avenue Floral (Item #113734) stamp set and had colored it in, but just laid it aside for a couple of months. I never really pictured it on a  black and white card, but that’s where it ended up. Sometimes my cards just go where they want to, you know? The paper for this is from the Day & Night Specialty paper (Item #116768) from the Holiday mini. While it’s great for Halloween projects, it can also look good in a more formal card.  The base of the card is Whisper White cardstock that I scored in a grid pattern with my Scor-Pal. I put a dot of black topped with Crystal Effects (Item #101055) to give it a brad-like look. The 3/4″ red ribbon (Item #115608) is actually polka dot on one side and red on the other. It’s pretty versatile that way! The white “Celebrate” is from the Autumn Harvest rub-ons (Item #115731.)
